…and it’s official. Here’s Mark Zuckerberg’s announcement from a few minutes ago.
Facebook is following the Google/Alphabet playbook to create the “Meta” company.
He says the Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, applications will keep their brand identity.
Will this help obfuscate the waves of negative press they’ve been getting? That remains to be seen.
I actually don’t think that’s the main purpose of this move. The timing of it, perhaps.
